Sleep Tips/Articles
Sleep TIPS
1. Be consistent, your child will be confused if he/she can do things one night and not the next.
2. After the last feed/meal have a quiet time before giving your child a bath/wash.
3. Read a story, sing or just chat to your child for 10-15 minutes before bed- you will be suprised how good this is to help settle your child.
4. Try to aviod cap naps or late afternoon naps especially with a toddler, as this revives them and can make bedtime more difficult..
5. Have a set nightime routine i.e calm play/game, drink of milk, bath, story/music then bed.
6. Try not to use props/aids to get your child to sleep i.e rocking in a chair, patting, encourage child to self-settle once tucked up.
7. Be firm but loving and kiss your child GOOD NIGHT!
